Hello Family and Friends,
I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Uganda on a global health outreach trip through DOCARE International (www.docareintl.org) and a Tulsa, Oklahoma non-profit organization, the Power of a Nickel (www.powerofanickel.org). I am very excited about the chance to share my gifts and talents with the medically underserved in Uganda. We will have very limited ability, if at all, to use laboratory and radiologic equipment and thus will interact with the patients directly utilizing a holistic approach to patient care.
I would love for you to partner with my team as we prepare for the outreach medical mission. I will cherish any and all thoughts and prayers that you offer, and I also invite you to consider offering financial support to our mission. The trip will cost each individual $4,000.00, which covers airfare, medical supplies, meals, lodging, transportation and interpreters costs. The first half deposit for this expense is due 12/27/2014 with the balance due 01/27/2015. Your donation will not only help to defray my costs, but will make you part of our mission mobilization team. Power of a Nickel will send a letter thanking the donators of gifts of $250 or greater for tax purposes.
According my understanding of US the tax laws, donations made to a 501 C3, non-profit organization, such as the Power of Nickel, should be tax deductible, but always check with your financial advisor.
